Do You Like?.....
The Children's Mintistry program of First UMC of Ashland, Ky., is excited to announce the beginning of a new program for children. Rising Stars Production Co. will meet on Sunday evenings from 5:30 to 7 pm.
Rising Stars Production Co. is a division of our children’s ministry department, Kids Anchored in Christ. Rising Stars, is designed for children grades 1 - 6. 
Children will take part in many different activities designed to teach them about the Bible and deepen their relationships with Christ, as they participate in the Performance and Visual Arts.
Singing, dance, acting, directing, creating and decorating sets, are only a few of the many things that are necessary in putting a musical drama together for performance.
The Rising Stars will get a chance to be involved in everything that it takes to produce a high quality musical drama. There are plans for three major performances a year. Children & families in our community will be invited and welcome to be a part of Rising Stars Production Co. Staff members Tracy Schumann (Music and Worship Pastor) and Cheryl Gray (Ministry to Children) are teaming up to make this a really great ministry in our church.

New staff person at FUMC!
Dear Church Family,
We have a new Director of Music Ministries on staff
at First UMC! In a unanimous vote of the Staff-Parish
Relations team, Tracy Schumann was hired effective
June 1. Tracy, and his wife Stephanie, have three
children. Their daughter Amy, 24, is married to
Terrance Griswold. They are both involved in a
Masters degree programs in violin and clarinet at Ithaca
College in New York. Andrew is 16 and attends Russell
High School. Steven is 13 and attends Russell Middle
School.
Tracy brings to FUMC a Masters degree in Choral
Conducting and over 30 years experience working in
churches. Stephanie holds two Bachelor degrees,
Bakery Science and Music Education and is certified to
teach math and science.
We feel very blessed to have Tracy and his family as
a part of our church family, and know that you will
want to welcome them and introduce yourself to them
when you get the opportunity.

Wednesday Night Live is Back!!!
The Wednesday Night Live (WNL) series continues!!! Following is a list of planned activities:
- Catered Dinner anytime between 5:15 and 6:00. Meals are $5.50 for adults, $3.00 for children, with an $18.00 limit per family.
- Activities begin at 6:00 and include:
- Adult Bible study - John, the Disciple that Jesus Loved.
- Christmon crafting, led by Betty Cooper.
- Knitting, led by Wanda Allemang.
- Hands for Jesus puppet ministry for children.
- The Youth will be working on decorating their new room, and other things.
- The adult Chancel Choir meets at 7:00 pm
- Adult Bible study - John, the Disciple that Jesus Loved.
