First United Methodist Preschool opened October 1983 with eight students.  We now have grown to serve over seventy students.  The preschool is a non-profit organization supported by the First United Methodist Church.  The Preschool has an advisory board comprised of both parents and members of the church.

The Preschool is licensed by the Department of Human Resources and provides the following:

·        An environment where we worship God the Creator, Jesus the Redeemer, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

·        Trained Preschool And Nursery Workers

·        A building that meets all Fire and Health Department regulations

·        Individual rest mats and baby beds

·        Two enclosed areas for outdoor play

·        Furnishings and equipment as required by the Department for Human Resources

·        A program developmentally significant for every child from 6 weeks to 5 years

·        An after school program in conjunction with the public school systems for students from Kindergarten through the end of 3^rd grade

·        A summer program for school age students through the 3^rd grade.

·        Well-balanced meals and a family style dining experience for breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack

It is the goal of the Preschool to help each child develop a positive self-concept, learn to communicate with other children and adults in positive ways, and to develop a basic interest in the curiosity for learning in a Christian environment.

Families with 2 or more children enrolled in the preschool receive a 15% discount on the lowest priced child.

All fees are paid in advance.
